en: Grass is an essential block in Minecraft. Not only was it one of the first blocks introduced to the game, but it is required to plant seeds. Right clicking a grass block with bone meal creates tall grass. It can also be eaten by sheep.
en: Grass grows in almost all biomes on blocks of dirt. Grass needs light from the sun or torches to grow. The grass in the swamp, savannah biomes is in a different color as it is in other biomes. If a block of dirt without grass is placed next to a block with grass, then the "empty" one will quickly overgrow. Dirt with grass can be immediately mined if you use an enchanted item with a silk touch.
